The results for the Angular Developer Survey 2020 are in. There are around 30k entries and over 50% show much appreciation for the framework with high scores. All of the responses will help shape Angular in 2021.

How easy was the last major version updates?
Most feedback was positive on the last major version updates where 54% of respondents had a smooth migration experience, only 8% found the process to be hard, with 38% being neutral
How would you order Angular’s areas of focus?
Here we find an order of importance where developers saw Angular’s area of focus:
- New features
- Initial load performance
- Runtime performance
- Ease of update
The survey had a lot of open questions and here is where critical feedback has poured in. From this, it has been observed that users would need better control over the component lifecycle, when rendering should happen and overall easing the understanding of what can slow down an app.
